Yes, LFT or liver function test is always advised to be done on an empty stomach. The liver releases enzymes that break down the food ingested. The liver is also responsible for metabolizing carbohydrates, fats, and proteins. All these functions are performed by the enzymes released by the liver. Since the liver function test primarily checks for these enzymes, any food or drink that can cause an increase in enzyme levels should be prevented.
